Aw, he said 'taran-tulla'! :-)

Tch… why's my blog unavailable?
What, I need to be updating all the time now?

My life isn't eventful enough for that.

I played with bricks with TheBoy today (he's three). He made a robot called Big Appetite, which I thought was a damn cool name. I asked him if he knows what appetite means and he just stared at me, so I explained it. I think he just likes the sound of the word.

He's so sweet, but the necessity of telling him off all the time makes me feel old. I feel like, at 18, maybe I shouldn't be able to play mum so well, turn on TheVoice, etc. Having a little brother around makes it necessary to be so adult, so square, so responsible.

But then, I've always been a responsible person.

However, TheBoy does have one thing over me. I was about to dry my hands in the kitchen, and there was a huge beast of a spider crouching on the oven glove right beside it. I acted like it could leap at my throat, tweaked the towel away and dried my hands, eying it warily.
TheBoy walked in, I spoke of the spider. He was very excited, waited for me to point it out, stared at it, then said: "Touch it!"
"…Mm!" I said, backing away.
So he grabbed the teatowel out of my hand, prodded the spider with it (it stirred sleepily), then grabbed it by the legs through the teatowel. Having caught it, he let go his grip, and it sat on top of the towel in his hand.
I opened the door and he calmly walked outside, and shook the towel, saying in a friendly tone: "Go on, let go!"
Heh. And that's how my kid brother saved me from a spider. Cause they are so Big and Scary.
He was very proud of himself, and told my mum that it was a 'taran-tulla'. (tarantula).

I've got my driving test tomorrow… I feel ready, but not confident, because I know something stupid may happen. Megh. Worst case scenario, I take it a second time. Ok, so that's not the worst. Worst would be: I NEVER PASS!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

~T.
